Problem: HP DesignJet 800 42" displaying error code 86:01 with a persistent paper jam warning despite no physical jam being present.
Solution: Technician found the carriage rod heavily coated with ink and the encoder strip fouled. Cleaned and oiled the carriage rod, cleaned the encoder strip, and cleaned the edge of the service station. Plotter returned to normal operation after servicing.
